I have a fountain pen with a screw-on pen cap. After about a year of usage, the cap lost its grip. No matter how much I twist the pen, it wont stay. Now I absolutely love this pen, but when I use it without the cap, the ink runs out very quickly. So any advice on how I can maybe fix the problem…without buying a new pen?

I have several colors that I like to use, but I can’t figure out how to clean the pen out in a quick manner so that I can use it with another ink without mixing them. I’ve been toying with the concept of using rubbing alcohol, but I’m not sure if it’ll work or not, and I’d like to check and see if there’s another solution that someone else knows will work before I take the risk of messing something up. I’d appreciate any advice you guys can give.
